The Dream

In Dreams, Groovy, Joni Mitchell, Life, Magic, Music, Nazareth, Poetry, Rock, Very Bad Poetry, Whimsy on August 17, 2012 at 4:42 pm

Surrounded by death,

Agony, despair

Ineffective apothecaries

Only

Procuring dark side-effects

A Prisoner in my body

Full-blown mutiny

How could I do this

To me

Sleep ever elusive

Unobtainable dreams

Seeming eternity

Wait

I see

The Land of Nod

On the horizon

Beckoning me

Finally

Slide through the ether

Sigh

Find myself there

Technicolour dream

I’ve been jonesing for you

Yeah, you

Open Sesame

But, more bucolic, serene

The grass was emerald

The wide, open sky

Azure

Wisps here and there

The perfect temperature

Starlight, star bright

Gasp

Permeates the air

From where

I cannot say

It doesn’t matter

It feels real

That’s all I know

All I care to say

I begin to skip

Dance

Spinning joy

Through Green

Rolling tenderly

Reach up

Touch the Blue

Forget hurt

Think of you

What is pain

Sigh

Free

At last

And then…

I’m back

Again

❤❤❤

Dreaming is one of the grooviest, coolest things in life. It’s like Time Travel, or something? An out of body experience? It’s a spontaneous, wonderful place to visit. I quite like it.

Always ❤ed the song. Now? It’s my dream, baby.

❤❤❤
