The Dream

In Dreams, Groovy, Joni Mitchell, Life, Magic, Music, Nazareth, Poetry, Rock, Very Bad Poetry, Whimsy on August 17, 2012 at 4:42 pm

Surrounded by death,

Agony, despair

Ineffective apothecaries

Only

Procuring dark side-effects

A Prisoner in my body

Full-blown mutiny

How could I do this

To me

Sleep ever elusive

Unobtainable dreams

Seeming eternity

Wait

I see

The Land of Nod

On the horizon

Beckoning me

Finally

Slide through the ether

Sigh

Find myself there

Technicolour dream

I’ve been jonesing for you

Yeah, you

Open Sesame

But, more bucolic, serene

The grass was emerald

The wide, open sky

Azure

Wisps here and there

The perfect temperature

Starlight, star bright

Gasp

Permeates the air

From where

I cannot say

It doesn’t matter

It feels real

That’s all I know

All I care to say

I begin to skip

Dance

Spinning joy

Through Green

Rolling tenderly

Reach up

Touch the Blue

Forget hurt

Think of you

What is pain

Sigh

Free

At last

And then…

I’m back

Again

❤❤❤

Dreaming is one of the grooviest, coolest things in life. It’s like Time Travel, or something? An out of body experience? It’s a spontaneous, wonderful place to visit. I quite like it.

Always ❤ed the song. Now? It’s my dream, baby.

The Magic Tree

In Dark, Fear, Life, Loss, Love, Madness, Magic, People, Places, Poetry, Very Bad Poetry on August 8, 2012 at 2:34 pm

20120808-142322.jpg

Alone here

In the secret garden

Heavy, sickly heat

My snowflake gown

Melting

A cool breeze

Just now

Consoles me

I feel him

Before

I see him

Walk on by

Dripping with dread

Clad in Red

Severe

He stands now

Beneath

The Magic Tree

Crashing cymbals

Smashing

Anguished screams

“Where are you, my Love?!?

Where, my Everything?!?

Why hast thou forsaken me?!?”

The first stoic man in Blue

Comes

Striding through

“Blue Man,

The man clad in Red,

Full of dread

Is this the one

You seek?

Be gentle

He has lost

Is lost

Love

He is crying

Dying

You will find him

Under

The Magic Tree…”

Blue stoic

Growing empathy

But

For Red’s sorrow

I see the Tree

Is not as Magic

As I hoped

It could be

For, surely,

If it were

Love

There would be

Instead

The Blue men

Gently shepherd

The Red man

Away

I must

Make haste

Of this place

Tout suite

🔥🔥🔥

Iron Maiden’s inferno

Emerging fireworks

Another midnight

Midway on the Midway

An illustrated man appears

Black scribbles

Collective erotica

Licking his skin

Rough yet smooth

Fire

Phallic Sharpie

Liquorice nipples

Hard but soft

I taste them

Bite them

Devour them

Consume their salt

Mark his chest

Cacophonies of sound

Kaleidoscopes of colour

Burning rapture

Conflagration in the night

The Day The Music Died

I believe in Rock ‘n Roll
Music saved my mortal soul
I can teach you how to dance
Real slow, baby, now’s my chance

Something touched me deep inside
What it is I just can’t hide
Searched the lost and found
But, I couldn’t find the sound

The men I had previously admired
Stole my Love inspired
She split with those three
She chose them, she left me

Helter Skelter
Summer swelter
The sky came down
Crushing the town

The girl who sang the blues
She had NO happy news
Children screamed
Lovers cried, poets dreamed

Nothing will ever replace
That stricken look on his face
The man down at the sacred store
When learned what I was grieving for

In deafening silence
The cruelest kind of penance
Saw all the pain at once magnified
On the day the music died…

Hey, Batman. I know you’re blue. We all are, too. No worries. It’s not your fault. Chin up. You’ve taken worse than this. C’mon. Everyone still ❤s you. Everyone.

Even the Rogues, baby.💋

Hey, here’s the Dark Horse with You…

I Love You, Batman

Truly, all of him

Every incarnation, each one

Still makes my heart swim

❤❤❤

I Can’t Explain

This intimate hold

Have just wanted to marry Batman

Since I was four years old

❤❤❤

The Who can explain…Then again, maybe they can’t…

Much ❤❤❤❤❤ all.

Strawberry Fields Forever

In Comic Relief, Driving, Groovy, Life, Love, Music, My Car, Nifty, Poetry, Psychedelic, Silly, The Beatles, Very Bad Poetry on July 16, 2012 at 6:18 pm

Psychedelic, cats and kittens. Strawberry Fields Forever…

This is an Ode to my Ford wagon, my trusty steed, Strawberry Fields (1991-2008). Had her 10 years. She bit the stardust. She was not ‘forever’. She is no more. Recycled her to be sure.

Fields, oh, Fields…

Fields and me. Me and fields. Batman and the Batmobile… The Lone Ranger and Silver… James T. and the Enterprise…

Fields and me…

Lady Madonna was my first. Strawberry Fields was second. Penny Lane was next, but, didn’t last. Now, I’ve got Jude and I’m holding fast. She’s the best ride yet and her stereo is a blast. 😉 lol

❤❤❤❤❤

A Very Tongue-in-Cheek… Ode to Strawberry Fields

*Ahem 😊 La la la-la la… La!*

How do I ❤ thee
Let me count the ways
I ❤ed thine sparkly windows
With their wide open vantage
I ❤ed your substandard air conditioning system
Like no other hot girl ever
Before or since
Oh! How you sported bumper stickers
With style and grace
Making it effortless to find you
In any given place
Proclaiming for all to see
The ‘Jedi Mind Tricks’
Just, simply, would not work
On you or me
No one else got the law enforcement/physics one
No one, except for you
Because you’re the only one
Fields, it’s true…
And, somehow, your freckles of rust
Could only succeed
In enhancing your appearance
Never detracting from it…
Not for one instance
Like little beauty marks
Oh! How beautiful you are
Your lack of cruise control
Only convinced me
That unlike others
You were not a follower
But, a leader among steeds
And, you led me all the way
You led me to the Vet’s
To the grocer’s and the fair
You led across wintery scenes
Through green fields and clean air
You led, you led
From here to there
Then, you’d lead me home again
Just as safe as can be
So, as I say goodnight to you
I hang my teary head
You’re the best darned car
I ever did meet
And, I’m so sorry that you’re…
Ahem…

Dark Magic, Frankenstein?

In Boris Karloff, Dark, Death, Fear, Frankenstein, Life, Magic, Poetry, The Universe, Very Bad Poetry on July 16, 2012 at 12:57 am

20120713-161348.jpg

Who has put this dark magic on

Only despotic cowards would deign

The Universe could have unfolded as it should

Karma reigning her sway

They in their realm

Us in ours

Uneasy peace

Who are they to pull at its strings

Please, cease

I feel ill

Swirling sick

He could to be so beautiful

The Frankenstein creature

He couldn’t not be beautiful

Still, for that is what he is

The epitome, they profess

Cannot see it today

Just the hurt

Scars

Fear

Grief

Isolation

Regret

Just

Whirling Calliope

Am I

Is he

Dead

Yet

❤❤❤

Traffic Jam

In Comic Relief, Driving, Groovy, Infinity, Love, Music, My Car, Nifty, Places, Poetry, Silly, The Universe, Very Bad Poetry on July 16, 2012 at 12:39 am

Jude and me
From the green to the streets
The War Pigs as they are
Groovy-tough beat to beat

Jude and me
Really funking the Fame
Really be, really, babe
Too cool, but hot like a flame

Jude and me
Tripping lights fantastique
Layla joins us awhile
She’s so lovely, so unique

Jude and me
Cruising, floating along
Everything we hear
Another favourite song

Jude and me
Now Bumper to bumper
In Love with a traffic ‘jam’
Hey! Jack Flash, he’s the jumper

Jude and me
Steve and Joe Walk This Way
Ask us to Remember
A little kiss, like this, hey

Jude and me
The Green Arrow said, “Jet!”
We’ll go for a ride in the Sky
Little lady, Suffragette

Jude and me
The last signals seen
Slipping deep into cool mauve
Through the backlit tangerine

Jude and me
Keeping some Bad Company
’Like Making Love to the Sky
To the Purple Haze, baby

Jude and me
Pushing waves of ’Zepplin
As dusk’s mists start to creep
Green’s lush kiss welcomes us in

Jude and me
The Song Remains the Same
As we go slidin’ through
Infinity, glad we came

Yeah, Jude and me
We’re just right
’Round and ’round
Close and tight

❤❤❤

Ummmmm, Jude is my car. 😊
